Our story
It all started when we rescued a high-energy puppy from a farm. Between my university classes, I found myself taking her on daily adventures to help her thrive and burn off energy. Soon, friends and family noticed and started asking if their dogs could join in on the fun! Just like that, It’s A Dog’s Life NZ was born! With a lifelong love of dogs, I’ve built a place where every dog who joins our crew is treated like family, enjoying the outdoors, exploring safely, and making new friends along the way.

We’re a small, dedicated team with big hearts! I’m Shay, the owner and your daily “paws On Board” person for all our doggy adventures. Behind the scenes,
Lisa helps keep our home stays running smoothly, giving your dogs a loving environment. And, of course, there’s Oakley, our golden retriever and the biggest softy around, who brings extra joy and calm to the crew.
Together, we’re here to make every day the best day for your fur-Baby!
